Bridging the Gap Between Dutch Dietitian Advice and Expat Needs
Share
When I moved to the Netherlands, I quickly realized a gap between Dutch dietary guidelines and the real nutritional needs of expats.
There’s no doubt—Dutch nutrition recommendations are rooted in science. However, these guidelines often overlook the diverse backgrounds, habits, and lifestyles of expats adjusting to a new food culture. Standardized advice doesn’t always fit everyone’s unique experiences and challenges.
This realization inspired me to create NutriHanna—a science-based nutrition coaching service specifically designed for expats. My approach combines professional expertise in healthy nutrition with personal experience adapting to a new country, helping others navigate the complexities of healthy eating in a foreign environment.
At NutriHanna, we go beyond one-size-fits-all recommendations. We focus on practical, personalized strategies to help expats integrate healthy eating habits into their daily lives—without stress, confusion, or guilt. Whether it’s understanding local food options, overcoming digestive issues, or simply feeling more confident about nutrition choices, we provide guidance tailored to each individual’s needs.
I work with both individuals and international companies, supporting employees who have relocated to the Netherlands in maintaining their health, energy, and overall well-being.
